Training your dog is so important. You often hear the a trained dog is a happy dog. My spouse has a problem appearing as "alpha dog" to our german shepherd but he seems to respond quite well to my instruction for some reason.

I adopted a Peke puppy (8 weeks old) who has been scratching like mad since I got him. He is on Amoxicillan for a thyroid infection. Just wondering if he might be allergic to the Amoxicillan.

Our little guy seems to benefit from the long hair in the winter since the feet are protected from the extreme cold. Similarly, a long coat of hair keeps the dog comfortable in the winter without an insulating jacket.

My Peke developed small scaly itchy rashes and when I took her to the vet, he said it was an allergic reaction probably to an ingredient in the dog pellets I was giving my dogs. Suggested that I change my brand and see what happens. I did so, and it cleared up. Am feeding her ostrich based pellets called Montego Classic and she is very healthy. I also get her shaved in the summer and she loves her hair short. I live in South Africa.
